Avarice, the first anti-hero Im posting for Mr Happy's world. Ive actually done quite a few pictures of characters that populate this world but work and commissions have kept me from showing them as these writeups take some time to do. But I needed a little break to do something for myself. But anyway Avarice here is sortve the Batman/Punisher of my world but with a mystical slant. His part of the story is fun because of all the conspiracy theories I get to research. But then part of the plan for Mr Happy's book is to include a lot of mythology and that involves the modern stuff as well as stories of gods and legends and tall tales. So much to explore. Its gonna be a fun ride.
Avarice was created in Champions Online as a character called Cold Hard Cash (I'll post his game model some time). He had ice powers (duh) but what I really wanted was something like I saw in the anime Read or Die or that one ninja in Naruto Shippuden who uses origami. So it was only a matter of time before I realized him as a comic book character. And yes this guy will kill. For a while I was sticking with the ice powers and he would channel cold from Dante's hell (7th circle I think) where the damned are frozen in a lake. But I really wanted to tie this guy directly into money and so there you have it, the evolution of a newer character and not something I created 20 years ago.
