So here's what I can reveal of Mr Happy's arch nemesis at this time, the terrifying Mr Yuck. He's had something of an evolution himself over the years. Formerly he was a creature made of toxic and caustic substances but now as Im planning the comic he has become the literal opposite of Mr Happy. Where Happy is spawned from creative influences Yuck is the avatar of destruction. He fits a role similar to that of Magneto, Ultron or Apocalypse. Villains that are so powerful that the beating them is always a near thing. Chris CLaremont once said its more interesting if your villains are more powerful than your heroes and I tend to agree in many cases. So Mr Yuck is exceedingly dangerous and powerful.
But here's a teaser...he's not the most powerful or dangerous villain by far! What??? You'll have to keep posted to see who that is.
Gaming Notes: Mr Yuck was a villain on CoV. He was mainly a debuffer using radiation and darkness power sets. In Champions Online there are no villains per say but I but we all know the deal when we look at certain toons. Mr Yuck there is mainly a pestilence toon with darkness thrown in, still a debuffer.
Know where i can get a blank version?
If there is a Yin, there's a Yang. Mr. Yuck is a simple but awesome villain. Truly the embodiment of Destruction.
Yes indeed, just what I was hoping for. Like Mr Happy I wanted to get the idea across in one uncomplicated image.
Yeah. A lot of Heroes and Villains nowadays can have a lot of complications to their story right?
....Oh, I am envious of your skill! How I would love to do something like this with my own characters! Very good work!
Thank you very much. UrsaMagus has been doing similar sheets for DA members. As long as you have the info and the art he does it for free. Id do them myself but Id have to charge for doing the artwork.
Ah, the wearer of the coolest cape in the universe
I wonder what does he blame Mr. Happy for. As they knever met before, I suppose it's the essence of creation/destruction that only got embodied in someone like Bracey/Mr Happy that had done something in the past... I also wnoder about his first victim, that supposedly gave him sense of consciousness. Was it disitegrated, or somewhat absorbed in fact?
It's also strange to see mr happy not being happy at all. I wonder why having his arm ripped of is such a problem? From what I remember he can easily rip himself into pieces and then get back together.
Also what wonders me is how he managed to overcome Mr Yuck even with "greatest of efforts".. I mean, no matter what Mr Happy creates, Yuck can disintegrate, it's all the same..
The coolest cape....I do so love that people dig his cape.
Mr Yuck has very specific reasons for hating Mr Happy what they are must remain a mystery for now. But just because Mr Happy doesnt seem to know Yuck doesnt mean that Yuck doesnt know Happy.
Actually Yuck became aware not after his first kill, but when Mr Happy arrived on the scene. Thats what sparked his sense of self once again. And no, Mr Yuck doesnt absorb anything. I played with the black hole idea for a while but decided the threat of true and total annihilation was a far more dangerous power and one Id never seen used before. Mr yuck is beyond the known laws of physics.
The screaming face is because Mr Yuck inst just slicing Happy apart, he's literally destroying his physical being and that is causing Happy enormous pain. And true while Yuck can destroy anything he touches he is not invincible. He can be defeated with brains, courage and some luck. Eventually I'll illustrate this part of the story so that you can see how it all went down.
I see... so Yuck might be actually someone from Happy's past? I mean he's now Yuck so it can't be determined who was that under the costume ( if it's even costume, that face looks sorta real)
Can't wait to see that part illustrated!
Youve guessed correctly, Yuck doesnt wear a costume, that is indeed his body. He is no longer human and in an indirect way Mr Happy is responsible for that. And yes again he may indeed be someone from Mr Happy's past but for now Im not saying. Im trying to get everything in orer so that I can start drawing the comic next year and thereby start to reveal some of these secrets.
Wonderfully disturbing and evocative. Yuck is like Happy as viewed through a broken, twisted and tarnished mirror. Great work all around, in art and concept.
Thanks, it makes me happy to hear such things from a comic fan like yourself. Certainly helps me feel Im on the right path here.
Thats a truly evil person/force. Only pure destruction of everything. Thats evil.
Thanks very much! He's a very misery loves company type. If I suffer all should suffer kinda guy and that sort of selfishness is evil.
This is an absolutely spectacular bad guy and the perfect foe for Mr. Happy. I love their diametrically opposed attitudes and powers. Love, love, love.
Yeah villains tend to be either direct opposites of a hero or someone very similar to them. Example: Superman vs Luthor (very opposite) Wolverine vs Sabertooth (very similar). But it would be weird having to happy guys as enemies lol. Hmmm could be fun idea to play with at some point though. But yeah this is the guy who will make Mr Happy's life miserable. Im still defining one of the worst villains of my universe, a god-like superman type called Prometheus. He'll be my Thanos/Darkseid something that is all but unstoppable.
Im also creating a very general rule for my universe. Death counts. Any character who is in some miraculous way brought back to life will not be the same at all. No easy revolving door here and while almost everyone who dies is just plain dead those who do return can never be the same.
Thanks so much for your comments.
One of these days I really need to get some profile art done for Fulcrum so that I can get his page done. He represents old Russia where Steel Wolf has embraced a wider worldview. Whereas Warhead represents everything Steel Wolf strives not to be: Power without restraint or compassion.
Thanks Jacob! Think Im going to do some more of my bad guys.
I know that I need more original bad guy kaiju.
Yeah I was making a list and discovered I have way more heroes than villains, gotta correct that.
You could always turns some of those heroes to villains or anti-heroes
Yeah, Im starting a list of anti heroes as well. Got one guy who' like a cross between Batman, Punisher and Dr Strange called Avarice. He goes after the greedy rich. Then there's Unlucky 13 who gives you some lethal bad luck. And he's like a were black cat or something like that (still deciding).
Gah, I would love one of these for Nezumi-Ko, but I don't have any HQ art of her. Great job putting it together.
Badass, gotta love villains. I also agree on having villains outclass the hero. It's a big part of almost all my stories.
Mr Yuck is awesome. Love his cape.
